Greetings from John

I decided to serve my country once again because I believe that we need progressive leaders in government who will provide an independent voice that will speak up and fight for the needs of Americans. Both Kentuckians and Americans deserve better than Geoff Davis, someone who faithfully advocates for the failed policies that got us into the troubles we face today, and instead of providing solutions he prides himself on being an obstructionist. I would like to share a little bit more about myself, and why it is vital we reclaim Kentucky's Fourth District.

I am a husband, a father of four beautiful daughters and a disabled veteran. I was born into abject poverty as the youngest of seven children in a family whose livelihood depended on hard work and high ethical standards. My father worked for over 30 years at General Motors and instilled in me his belief in the American way, which includes dedication, loyalty, a work ethic, a sense of commitment to the community and a deep love for our country.

I had the distinct honor to serve on the USS George Washington and was deployed in support of Operation Noble Eagle, Operation Iraqi Freedom, and Operation Enduring Freedom. After coming home and having to fight for medical and disability benefits due to complications from the anthrax vaccination, I learned that most Republicans in Congress are more than willing to send us into war, but are far from willing to assume responsibility upon our return. Like every other working class American, veterans are not asking for anything more than was promised.

I will fight to reform free trade into fair trade in order to bring jobs back to America, create new jobs through the advancement of green energy and technology, push for financial-regulatory reform, and ensure we balance the budget and reduce the national debt by cutting wasteful government spending.

Kentucky’s Fourth District has 60,000 more registered Democrats than Republicans, but the problem we face in elections is turnout. We can turn this around though with a sweeping grassroots movement. This movement will provide Kentuckians the motivation and knowledge needed to elect an independent fighter who will bring real solutions to the tough issues we face.

Thank you,
